The shocking image of Lionel Messi in the slammer and crying blood has circulated around the web and Barcelona representative Josep Vives justified the Islamic sects groups use of an image of the Argentine star.
As detailed by ‘SITE Intel Group’, the groups affiliated to ISIS have threatened to cause terror in next summer’s World Cup in Russia, using a photo of a hostage Lionel Messi with a surge of blood pouring from his eyes as a notice.
“They have looked for an iconic image, because Messi is world football. We have lived under this threat for a long time, not just us but football worldwide, like what happened at the Stade de France,” Josep Vives stated for ‘Europa Press’.
“We are prepared, but we call for caution, calmness and serenity,” the Barca spokesperson added, in reference to a previous threat from ISIS, an image in which a soldier armed with an AK-47 and explosives looked down on the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where the World Cup final is due to take place next July.
