Chelsea and Belgium superstar Eden Hazard admitted that the Blue’s sold out one of the best Premier League midfielders in recent times.
The Belgian duo were teammates at Chelsea for a concise spell before De Bruyne was sold to German outfit Wolfsburg for £18million in January 2014.
De Bruyne, in the end, returned back to Premier League to team up with Manchester City and he has enjoyed a tremendous rise this season under Pep Guardiola with three goals and nine assists 15 games up until now.
The 26-year-old who scored the winning goal at Stamford Bridge to secure Manchester City’s triumph over Chelsea in September.
Speaking ahead of Belgium’s friendly at home to Mexico on Friday, Hazard admitted that he feels his Belgium teammate De Bruyne s the best player currently in the league.
”Kevin is definitely the best player in the Premier League,’ said Hazard. ‘He plays with a good team but that’s also thanks to him that they play so well. ‘
”The Guardiola system has been written on its own.
‘‘He has been criticised when he has played for Belgium, but I do not always think that’s fair. He always carries out everything and does his best.
‘‘He’s an excellent player for our team.’
