Super Eagles and Bursaspor midfielder Mikel Agu made the Team of the Week in Turkey after his awesome performances against Osmanlispor.
Agu grabbed an assist and also found the back of the net on Monday as his team thrash Osmanlispor 3-1, a scintillating performance that earned him the Man of the Match award, also in action for Bursaspor was Agu’s Super Eagles teammate William Troost-Ekong, while Osmanlispor paraded Nigerian duo Aminu Umar and Raheem Lawal.
Agu was rated by skor.sozcu.com ahead of defender Aziz Behich, who won 37 of 60 tackles, and fellow Eagles star William Troost-Ekong (18 of 29 duels).
The 24-year-old has been ever-present for the Turkish club since his loan move from FC Porto this season, a run of form that has helped him keep his spot in the Nigeria national team, in spite of the fact that his last three games have been highly criticised from “The Green Crocodiles” fans.
The midfielder is proving critics wrong and giving Gernot Rohr an ideal nod with his performances in Turkey following another team of the week nomination, the midfielder also gets the highest rating among all players in the team of the week.
