Arsenal woes continue as Gunner’s fans were muddled by Arsene Wenger’s line-up even before the game began, with Alexis Sanchez dropped to the seat backfired, Liverpool won 3-1 at Anfield to reignite its ambitions of Champions League qualification on Saturday.
Liverpool promptly took full control of the game and was effortlessly 1-0 up just after 9 minutes into the game through Firmino strike.
The home side did not ease up once they got the lead and on the off chance that anything looked much all the more undermining. Giroud appeared to be a threat in the 20th minute but all the action was in Arsenal’s half.
Coutinho verged on multiplying Liverpool’s lead after 30 minutes, but Petr Cech figured out the strike and tip the ball over the bar.
Liverpool pressure was just too much for the visitors cutting Arsenal’s defender apart and Mane was unopposed to smash Klopp’s led side into a merited 2-0 preferred advantage, and Coutinho even could have made it 3 just before half time but the Brazilian shot was directly at Cech.
However, Wenger’s team all of a sudden seemed as though they had a mountain to move in the second half, and Wenger had no choice than to bring in Chilean forward Sanchez to attempt and infuse some attacking prowess on Liverpool defence.
The visitors did improve a bit with Alexis Sanchez on the pitch, and few minute into the second half Alexis figured out a pass to Welbeck in the box, and Welbeck waste no time to convert his chance to make it 2-1.
Jurgen Klopp led team are still a long way from surrendering their lead, Wenger holds up till 74 minutes to roll out his last two substitutes Perez and Walcott coming in for Giroud and Welbeck.
Arsenal unquestionably appeared to be all the more to get an equaliser as Joel Matip blocked Sanchez’s goal-bound effort and Liverpool counter-attacked through Lallana, found Origi with the Belgian, in turn, teeing up Wijnaldum to smash the ball home.
The loss has pushed Arsenal down to the 5th position on the EPL log and Liverpool got elevated to 3rd with the impressive win.
